About This Programme

A 4-year Bachelor of Health Sciences in Medical Laboratory Science offered by the Department of Health Sciences at VUT. Prepares graduates for careers in medical laboratory diagnostics and health sciences.

Admission Requirements
Minimum APS score of 27 (excluding Life Orientation)

Required Subjects NSC levels

  • English 4 50–59%
  • Mathematics 4 50–59%
  • Physical Science 4 50–59%
  • Life Science 5 60–69%

Additional Requirements

  • Applicants may be required to have industrial knowledge (i.e. job shadowing)
  • Applicants may undergo placement testing

Life Orientation is excluded from the APS / score calculation.

Equivalent Standard Grade (SG) or Higher Grade (HG) results are accepted. HG minimum is D and SG minimum is C for all compulsory subjects.
