About This Programme

A three-year Diploma in Fire Technology offered at Arcadia Campus, online, and only to Fire and Rescue Services personnel. Prepares students for careers as fire fighters, fire prevention officers, and emergency services managers.

  • A National Senior Certificate with a bachelor's degree or a diploma endorsement, or an equivalent qualification
  • Three years' relevant work experience
  • HAZMAT Awareness certificate
  • Fire Fighter I certificate
  • HAZMAT Operational certificate
  • Fire Fighter II certificate
  • Applicants must submit proof of employment in the form of an official letter from the employer
Only offered to Fire and Rescue Services personnel. Also offered online (D). Offered at Arcadia (Ar) campus. Closing date for applications: 31/7. Possible further studies: AdvDip, PGDip, MAppSci and PhD (Science): Fire Technology.
