About This Programme

Offered by the Faculty of Economic and Management Sciences. Economics allows a wide choice of careers; undergraduate qualifications in Economics yield good returns for careers in business and the public sector.

Admission Requirements
Minimum aggregate of 65% for the NSC (excluding Life Orientation)

Additional Requirements

  • For the Econometrics and Financial Sector focal areas, a Grade 12 Mathematics final mark of 70% or higher is required as this is needed for Actuarial Science 112 (a compulsory module in these focal areas)
  • The Mathematics 70% requirement also applies to the general Economic Sciences stream if you want to enrol for Actuarial Science 112
NSC aggregate of at least 65% excluding Life Orientation. Focal areas: Econometrics, Economic and Management Consultation, Financial Sector, Transport Economics. Econometrics and Financial Sector focal areas require Mathematics 70%.
