About This Programme

A five-year dual degree combining the BAcc and LLB. Only 35 places available. Graduates can pursue careers in either law or accounting. The LLB enables entry to the legal profession; the BAcc provides access to postgraduate accounting qualifications leading to CA(SA).

Admission Requirements

Required Subjects

  • English or Afrikaans Home Language 4 50–59%
  • Mathematics 5 60–69%

Additional Requirements

  • NSC aggregate of at least 80% excluding Life Orientation
  • Write NBT AQL and MAT before 31 July
  • English or Afrikaans Home Language 60% OR Afrikaans or English First Additional Language 70%
  • Mathematics 70% OR Mathematics 60% and Accounting 70%
Limited to 35 students. This is one of the most competitive programmes at SU. Both NBT AQL and MAT required before 31 July. Selection 80:20 (academics:NBT).
