About This Programme

Offered by the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences as a Specialised Degree Programme. Focuses on community development, population development, town and regional planning, tourism, resource planning and environmental management.

Admission Requirements
Minimum aggregate of 63% for the NSC (excluding Life Orientation)

Required Subjects percentage

  • Home Language 50%
  • First Additional Language 40%
  • Mathematics 60%

Additional Requirements

  • Mathematics 60% only required if Economics is taken as a university subject
  • NSC or IEB school-leaving certificate with a mark of at least 4 (50%) in each of four school subjects from the Faculty's recognised list
Extended Curriculum Programme (ECP) variant available — 4 years. ECP students selected at the discretion of the Faculty. NSC aggregate of at least 63% excluding Life Orientation. Mathematics 60% only required if Economics is taken as a university subject.
