About the Westcol Internship Programmes

The internship is open to students who have successfully completed N4 to N6 qualifications and who have never participated in any funded projects offered by the College.

By targeting students who have yet to benefit from previous initiatives, the College seeks to broaden access to career-building opportunities.

This programme is particularly beneficial for learners looking to gain hands-on experience in their field of study, develop practical skills, and increase their employability after graduation.

Eligibility Criteria and Application Requirements

To apply, students must submit their applications online via the West Coast College portal at www.westcoastcollege.co.za. Applicants are required to upload a single combined PDF document containing all necessary documentation. The required documents include:

  • A detailed CV, including two contactable references and a valid email address

  • Certified copy of the learner’s South African ID

  • Certified copies of N4 to N6 results or certificates

  • An SAPS affidavit confirming that the learner is unemployed and has never participated in any funded College projects

  • SARS tax reference document

  • Bank confirmation letter

  • Host employer confirmation letter (if currently volunteering without a stipend)

It is important to note that priority will be given to students who already have a host employer for Workplace Experience. Applicants with existing host placements should ensure that a confirmation letter from their employer is included in the uploaded PDF.
