Applications are now being accepted for the Vhembe District Municipality's 2025 bursary programme. Executive Mayor Cllr. Freda Nkondo invites disadvantaged students currently enrolled or planning to enrol in South African tertiary institutions to apply for this great opportunity.

The bursary program prioritizes students residing within the Vhembe District. This not only ensures resources are directed towards local communities but also encourages graduates to return and contribute their skills and knowledge to the district's development.
By targeting disadvantaged students, the program aims to create a more equitable education landscape and provide opportunities for those who might otherwise face barriers to accessing higher education. - Agriculture
- Business and Finance/Accounting/Auditing /Economics

- Hydrology
- Regional and Town Planning
- Tourism
- Water and Waste Management
- Youth Development
REQUIREMENTS FOR THE VHEMBE DISTRICT MUNICIPALITY MAYORAL BURSARY
To qualify for the Vhembe District Municipality Mayoral Bursary you must meet the following requirements:
- Must be a South African citizen.
- Must be from a disadvantaged background.
- Must be studying or intend to study at a recognised and accredited tertiary institution within the Vhembe district.
- Must be studying or intend to study towards a qualification within one of the fields of study listed above.
- Must have completed Matric.
- Must reside within the Vhembe District area (Limpopo province)
VHEMBE DISTRICT MUNICIPALITY MAYORAL BURSARY REQUIRED DOCUMENTS:
Applicants must submit the following required documents with their application:
- Certified copy of Matric final results/ certificate
- Certified copies of Parents or guardians ID documents
- Applicant certified copy of ID document
- Full academic record, if currently studying
- Parents or guardians proof of income: submit latest payslips if employed/ affidavit if unemployed.
- Proof of acceptance/ provisional acceptance at a tertiary institutions
- Proof of residence from SANCO/ Head Man/ Civic

The closing date for the Vhembe District Municipality Mayoral Bursary applications for the 2025 academic year is the 24th of January 2025.
