HOW TO APPLY AT UP ONLINE
Applications for study at the University of Pretoria are fully online. To apply online you will need internet access, as well as an email address that you can access regularly, because as soon as you submit your online application, a student number (EMPLID) will be sent to this email address as confirmation of receipt. This Online Application System can be used by new prospective students who are applying for the first time.
Each prospective student must complete only one online application. On the online application the University of Pretoria offers a first and second choice in terms of what you wish to study. All applicants should fill in both a first and second choice on the online application. Once your online application has been processed, you will receive a student number(EMPLID).Receiving a student number (EMPLID) does NOT imply that you have been accepted by the University of Pretoria yet.
UP Opening date for 2023 applications
Applications for 2024 will open on the 1st April 2023.
UP closing dates for 2024 applications
closing date for all selection programmes is 30 June 2023. There is no set closing date for applications for non-selection programmes for 2024. Admission will be based on the availability of places. When theavailable number of places for a specific programme have been filled, the programme will be closed for further applications. Applicants are therefore strongly advised and encouraged to submit their applications as soon as possible after 1 April 2023. University of Pretoria Application Fee
UP application fee is R300. The application fee is non-refundable. When paying your application fee it is important to note down your Online Study Application Number that would have been emailed to you as the payment reference (typically in the form T1234567). After paying scan the proof of payment and upload to your application. Don't delay paying an application fee because without paying application fee your application is not submitted.
Application fees are waived for students who apply for studies at the University of Pretoria if your household income is lower than or equal to R150 000 per annum. Prospective students can submit an affidavit or proof of income of parents or guardian. All documents submitted will be verified.
