Minimum Admission Requirements

Before applying, ensure you meet the minimum requirements for your chosen course. Keep in mind that every course has its own unique requirements. For example requirements for bachelor of education in senior and FET  phase (majoring with Life Science) will not be the same as requirements of bachelor of education in senior and FET  phase (majoring with Life Orientation). Below are some of the common requirements of teaching courses at UNISA: 

  • A National Senior Certificate (NSC) with an endorsement for Bachelor’s studies.
  • An appropriate accredited Bachelor's degree (360 or 480 credits) with relevant majoring modules taken up to second or third year. OR
  • Equivalent National Diploma or Diploma (360 or 480 credits) from an accredited institution with relevant majoring modules taken up to third year level.

UNISA Requires these supporting documents:

  1. Certified and scanned ID copy of the applicant
  2. Certified and scanned Matric Certificate of the applicant
  3. Certified and scanned degree/diploma certificate of the applicant
  4. Certified and scanned Academic Record of the applicant

NOTE: If you completed your undergraduate qualification at UNISA you will not be required to submit any documents.
