UKZN NOW OPEN FOR LATE APPLICATIONS picture

UKZN (University of Kwazulu Natal) 2025 late applications are officially open from the 1st of November 2024 to 31st of March 2025. Individuals who were not able to apply in time in 2024 are now given an opportunity to submit their applications at UKZN for 2025 admission. UKZN accepts late applications for South African applicants only and late applications for international students will NOT be accepted.

  • College of Law and Management Studies; only B Com(Foundation), B Com, B Com(Acc) and B Admin will accept late applications

UKZN LATE APPLICATIONS AVAILABLE COURSES REQUIREMENTS:

Students need to meet the following minimum entry requirements in order to apply:

  • Engineering: a matric point score of 33, and a minimum matric pass of 65% for Core Maths and Physics.
  • Agriculture and Science: a matric point score of 28, and a minimum matric pass of 50% for Core Maths and any Science.
  • Access Programme: a matric point score of 26, and a minimum matric pass of 40% for Core Maths and any Science.

How to apply at UKZN for 2025 late applications online

You have two options to submit your late application at UKZN, you can either apply through CAO (central application office) or you can download the UKZN application form HERE, fill it out and send back the form to UKZN via email or post

 Step by Step Guide on How to Apply Online through CAO at UKZN for 2025 late applications

All first year applications are submitted through the Central Applications Office (CAO). This is a simplified way of applying for more than one programme and more than one institution using one application form, and paying a single application fee. 

Step 1: Visit the CAO website: www.cao.ac.za and click on the apply tab, then click on apply now.

Step 2: Enter your ID number or your Cao number.

Step 3: Enter your personal details then proceed, you will then get your Cao number and password 

Step 4: Capture your next of kin details 

Step 5: Enter your grade 11 results or your grade 12 results 

Step 6: Choose the courses you want to apply for (you can choose up to 6 choices) 

Step 7: Save your Cao number, password and the number to pay the application fee) 

Step 8: Upload the required documents. After submitting your documents you can exit the application process.

Step by Step Guide on How to Apply at UKZN for 2025 late applications with a form 

Step 1: Download a late application form HERE

Step 2: Fill in the Form and attach certified copies of ID and Matric Statement (All certified copies should not be more than 3 months old) as well as proof of payment of an application fee.

Step 3: An application form as well as supporting documents must be saved as pdf and sent as one attachment.

Does UKZN accept late applications?

Does UKZN accept late applications? Yes, UKZN does accept late applications but late applications are only considered if there are still spaces available in the programmes concerned. UKZN can only accommodate a limited number of students per course. 

What is the late application fee for UKZN 2025?

The late application fee for UKZN (University of Kwazulu Natal) in 2025 is R470 for local applicants and R580 for international applicants. You can pay the late application fee online or through EasyPay at Pick n Pay, Checkers, Shoprite, Woolworths or any store displaying the EasyPay sign. Card payments can also be made at the CAO's office. The CAO office does not accept cash. The payment reference is your CAO Reference Number. 

Does UKZN allow walk ins in 2025?

UKZN does not allow walk-ins for late applications in 2025. All late applications should be submitted online on the CAO website or by form, the form should be emailed back to UKZN.

How to track ukzn late application status

Visit the CAO website and click on check application status tab. You will then be required to enter your CAO or ID number. After entering your ID or CAO number you will be able to see your application status. If you have applied using a form, monitor your emails for feedback. Keep in mind that UKZN late applications will only be considered if there are still spaces available in a particular faculty. Keep an eye to the UKZN and CAO websites for updates regarding late applications.
