About the Sibona iLanga Trust Bursary programme:

The Sibona Ilanga Trust Bursary Programme is designed to support deserving individuals residing within a 50km radius of the De Aar Solar Power Plant in achieving their academic goals. They believe in fostering education and development within their communities, and this bursary programme is their way of investing in the future of residents regardless of the qualification they are pursuing. 

FIELD OF STUDY

The bursary programme is open to students who want to pursue or are pursuing an undergraduate qualification in the following fields:

• Technical (NQF level 6)
• Skills Training (NQF Level 6) – plumbing, bricklaying etc. 
• Training Programmes (NQF Level 6) 
• National Diploma/Degree programmes.

REQUIREMENTS FOR THE SIBONA ILANGA TRUST BURSARY PROGRAMME. 

To qualify for the Sibona iLanga Trust bursary programme, you must meet the following requirements:

• You must be a South African citizen.
• You must be in matric OR have completed matric.  
• You must demonstrate financial need. 
• You must not be older than 35 years of age.
• You must reside within 50km of the De Aar Solar Plant.
• You must be accepted to study OR studying at any recognised public or private south African tertiary education or training institution, including TVETs.

SIBONA ILANGA TRUST BURSARY COVERS:

• Accommodation
• Full Tuition Fees
• Living expenses
• Study materials. 

SIBONA ILANGA TRUST BURSARY REQUIRED DOCUMENTS:

• Certified copy of applicant's ID
• Proof of household income. 
• Proof of acceptance OR registration at a tertiary education or training institution.
• Proof of residence.

How to apply for the Sibona iLanga Trust Bursary for 2025

To apply for the Sibona iLanga Bursary trust programme for the 2025 academic year you need to visit the Study Trust bursary application platform HERE and click on the "Apply Here" tab. If you do not have a Study Trust profile yet, you will be required to create one. Once you are done, login and begin your online application to be considered for funding. 

NB: Before you begin your application make sure you have all your documents ready.
