Programme Duration and Stipend

The in-service training programme will run for 18 months, which aligns with the practical experience requirement needed to qualify for a National Diploma.

Successful applicants will receive a monthly stipend of R5 000 throughout the duration of the programme. The stipend is intended to help cover basic expenses such as transport and meals while students gain valuable workplace exposure.

The college emphasised that this structured workplace training is a crucial step in transitioning from classroom-based learning to professional employment.

Host Employers Given Priority

Students who already have a host employer willing to accommodate them for in-service training are strongly encouraged to apply. Those with confirmed host placements will have an added advantage during the selection process.

Applicants in this category must submit a confirmation letter from their host employer as part of their application documents.

This approach aims to fast-track placement processes and ensure that students are able to complete their qualifications without unnecessary delays.

A Critical Step Toward Completing Your Qualification

TVET students across South Africa often face challenges in securing the required 18 months of practical training after completing their N6 studies. Without this component, graduates cannot apply for their National Diploma.

Through its partnership with Services SETA, Mthashana TVET College aims to bridge this gap and improve graduate employability by providing structured, funded workplace experience.

Eligible students are urged to submit their applications before the deadline and take this important step toward completing their qualification and entering the job market as fully qualified professionals.
