About the Milliman Scholarship

The Milliman Scholarship is intended to support students from historically underrepresented ethnic groups in computer science, economics, programming, data science, and actuarial science. The programme is administered by Scholarship America®, the nation’s largest designer and manager of scholarships and other education support programs for corporations, foundations, associations, and individuals. 

FIELD OF STUDY

The scholarship programme is open to students who want to pursue or are pursuing a undergraduate qualification in the following fields:

• Actuarial Science
• Computer Science
• Data Analytics
• Data Science
• Economics
• Finance
• Mathematics
• Programming
• Statistics

REQUIREMENTS FOR THE MILLIMAN SCHOLARSHIP

To qualify for the Milliman Scholarship, you must meet the following requirements:

• You must have at least one birth parent who is Black or Coloured.
• You must be a South African citizen.
• You must be in your final year of high school (Matric) OR you must be pursuing undergraduate studies.
• You must have a STRONG academic record. 
• You must be studying OR intend on studying one of fields listed above at a recognized South African university.

MILLIMAN SCHOLARSHIP REQUIRED DOCUMENTS:

• Your current and complete academic transcript/report. (Your transcripts/reports must have your full name, school name, results and credit hours for each course and term in which each course was taken)

How to apply for the Milliman Scholarship - 2025

Applications for the Milliman Scholarship programme must be submitted online. Follow the steps below to get started:

• Visit the Milliman application site HERE 
• click on the "Apply now" button to begin your application
• Create an account by click on "I'm a student" tab under first time here
• Fill in your personal details and click on "create account"
• After creating an account login and begin your online application

CLOSING DATE:
