Supporting Local Agriculture and Youth Empowerment
Mixed farming systems integrate crop production and livestock management, offering a diversified approach to agriculture that enhances sustainability and productivity. By equipping young people with skills in this field, Majuba TVET College aims to support small-scale and emerging farmers in the district while creating pathways to self-employment and entrepreneurship.
The agricultural sector remains a key driver of economic activity in many rural parts of South Africa. Programmes such as this one not only address youth unemployment but also strengthen local food systems and encourage innovation in farming practices.
Through partnerships with sector education and training authorities such as AgriSETA, TVET colleges continue to play a crucial role in bridging the skills gap and aligning training with labour market needs.

The launch of the Mixed Farming Systems Skills Programme underscores Majuba TVET College’s ongoing commitment to community upliftment and skills development within the Amajuba District. By targeting unemployed youth and prioritising marginalised groups, the college continues to position itself as a catalyst for socio-economic transformation in the region.
