About the Alfred Nzo Municipality Bursary

Alfred Nzo Municipality Bursary seeks to overcome educational inequality by providing financial aid to students from disadvantaged communities within the Alfred Nzo Municipal Area to further their studies in higher education institutions. This bursary programme focuses on funding scarce and important fields which will be beneficial to the municipality as a whole.

FIELD OF STUDY

The bursary programme is open to students who want to pursue an undergraduate qualification in the following fields:

• BSc Environmental and Water Science
• BSc Community and Water Services and Sanitation
• BSc Water Resource Management 
• National Diploma/Degree Water and Science Technology 
• National Diploma/Degree Marine Engineering 
• National Diploma/Degree Disaster Management 
• National Diploma/Degree Graphic Art/Design
• National Diploma/Degree Mechanical Engineering 
• National Diploma/ Degree Geographic Information System
• National Diploma Information Communication Technology(ICT)

REQUIREMENTS FOR THE ALFRED NZO MUNICIPALITY BURSARY

To qualify for the Alfred Nzo Municipality Bursary you must meet the following requirements:

• Must be a South African citizen
• Must be between 16 and 35 years of age.
• Must have completed Matric 
• Must intend to study one of the above listed qualifications 
• Must intend to study at a public university in South Africa.
• Must be residing within the Alfred Nzo Municipality region (Eastern Cape)
• Must have a STRONG academic promise 
• Must demonstrate financial need 

ALFRED NZO MUNICIPALITY BURSARY REQUIRED DOCUMENTS:

• Certified copy of South African ID 
• Certified copy of Matric certificate/statement
• Proof of Residence from local ward Councillor 
• Acceptance letter 
• Parents proof of income (latest payslips if employed/ affidavit if unemployed/ proof of sassa grant or pension if applicable)
• Copy of death certificate if one or both parents of applicant are deceased.
• Motivational letter

1. Complete the application form and attach the required documents.
