UJ Opens 2025 Late Applications

as of 14 January 2025, the University of Johannesburg has opened late applications for the 2025 academic year. UJ available for late applications are limited therefore prospective students should act fast to secure space at UJ. The UJ late applications for 2025 will close on the 19th of January 2025, subject to the availability of courses.

University of Johannesburg 2025 Late Applications Guide: 

The exciting news is that UJ late applications for 2025 are now open for all new qualifying students who are still looking for space in higher learning institutions in South Africa. In this guide we will walk you through the process and everything you need to apply successfully at the University of Johannesburg for 2025.

• UJ Late Applications deadline

The University of Johannesburg closing date for late applications is 19 January 2025. This means that all online applications received after this stipulated date will not be considered for admission in this period. 

• UJ Late Applications Documents

New students looking for space at UJ should prepare documents that will go along with their applications. These documents are; Certified & scanned ID copy and certified & scanned matric certificate or statement. In some instances the documents will not be required during late applications but have them ready just in case. 

• UJ Late Applications Requirements

When doing the late application you need to submit your UJ student number, ID number or your grade 12 examination number. Then the system will automatically verify whether you qualify for any course where there's still space available. Should there be no course displayed consider that you do not qualify for any course during the late applications at UJ. 

• Online Application

Please note that there will be no walk ins allowed for late applications in January at the University of Johannesburg. Anyone who wants to apply at UJ for late applications can apply online in the UJ online system. Applications submitted via email or hard copy will unfortunately, not be accepted for 2025. 

• Student who previously applied at UJ

If you have previously applied at UJ for the 2025 Academic year the system will indicate your application status for the qualification(s) you have applied for.

If you have a positive application status and you are happy with your qualification choice, click on registration information to get all the details regarding registrations 

If you are not happy with your current qualification click on the change qualification button and apply for available courses you qualify for in late applications. 

• Available courses for late applications

Applicants will see available courses they qualify for in the UJ portal during the late application process. These courses are limited and students who don't qualify will not allowed to proceed with the online application at UJ. Here's a list of all courses that are available for late applications at the University of Johannesburg. 

Important Information before you apply at UJ for late applications 2025

• You need a valid email address (it can be Gmail or yahoo mail account)
• Ensure you have access to a reliable internet connection
• Ensure you apply on time (competition is high)
• Ensure you have already applied for funding (there are no late applications for financial aid at UJ)
• Consider applying midnight, if the UJ website keeps kicking you out
• All documents must be certified and scanned
• Ensure that the scanned file is a maximum of 512KB
• All documents are scanned in any of the following types – tiff, pdf, jpg or gif
• Each document must be scanned and uploaded as separate attachments
   

Here's how to apply online for late applications at the University of Johannesburg

Step 1: Visit the UJ online system HERE. You have to submit either your UJ student number, Grade 12 examination number or ID number and click on submit. Then the system will automatically verify whether you qualify for any course where there's still space available. 

Note: If you already have a UJ student number you will be requested to enter your iEnabler PIN . If you forgot your PIN or password you will be re-directed to the iEnabler page. Enter your UJ student number and click on the request a pin button. Your PIN will be sent to your email address. Click on the back button of the browser and re-enter your student number and PIN to proceed – alternatively you can contact the UJ Call Centre at 011 559 4555.

Step 2: Verify your personal details and click on confirm.

Step 3: If you have not applied at UJ, the system will indicate whether you qualify for any available courses. 

Step 4: Qualifications which you qualify for and still have space available will be displayed per Faculty/College. Please select your preferred Faculty/College.

Step 5: A list of available qualifications within the Faculty/College will be displayed. Select the course you are interested in.

Step 6: If you are happy with your selection click on submit an enquiry. If you are not happy with your selection click on make a different selection to restart the process.

Step 7: Enter your cell phone number and click on submit

What if I am a Transfer applicants?

Applicants transferring from another university/college or did previous studies at UJ will not be taken into consideration for 2025 late applications. This policy ensures that late applications are reserved for new applicants who have not had prior opportunities to apply.
 

If you fall into this category, you will need to explore alternative options, such as applying during the next regular application cycle or contacting the UJ admissions office to inquire about specific transfer requirements outside the late application period. Alternatively you can consider in applying in other tertiary institutions.
